Earthtrust Fundraising Events
Earthtrust occassionally holds special events that help raise the public's
awareness about Earthtrust's mission, and raise much-needed funds. Although
these events do raise funds for Earthtrust, the majority of Earthtrust's
funding still comes from the donations of dedicated individuals, foundations,
and corporations who are interested in furthering Earthtrust's important
wildlife conservation mission. We encourage you to help us by making
such a donation today!
Following is a sampling of some of Earthtrust's recent fundraising events:
Kenny Loggins Benefit Concert
On May 5, 1995 Kenny Loggins, who has long been
helping Earthtrust popularize its wildlife mission, and his full band performed
in a benefit concert for Earthtrust at the Sheraton Waikiki ballroom in
Honolulu. The show was absolutely fabulous, with the entire band and crew
putting on an excellent performance. Opening for Kenny was the Hawaiian
group Hapa, on whose first album Kenny performed.

Second Annual "Celebrity
Waiter "Benefit
In October of 1995, Earthtrust held its second annual "Celebrity
Waiter" Dinner, the poster for which is depicted below. Special Events
coordinator Janis McCain is shown being served by Earthtrust's two mascots--a
humpback whale and a dolphin! Many thanks to the numerous sponsers of this
event, and particularly to the many celebrities who shared their time and
talents to help Earthtrust!
The Bridges Family Celebrity Invitational
Each December, the Chairmain of Earthtrust's International Advisory Board,
Lloyd Bridges, and his family (including stars Jeff Bridges
and Beau Bridges) host a gala celebrity fundraising event on Maui
to benefit both Earthtrust and Whales Alive (a program of Earth Island Institute).
Thank you, Lloyd, Dorothy, Jeff, Beau, and Cindy!

Following is the welcome letter from Lloyd and Dorothy Bridges from December
1995 event:
December 1, 1995
Aloha yet again!
A return to Maui is one of the nicest things that could happen to us, especially
when we see so many familiar friendly faces and once more host an event
that contributes a helping hand to the worthy causes of Whales Alive
and Earthtrust.
Our sons, Beau and Jeff, had planned to be with us this trip, but their
movie schedules prevented it. They're as disappointed as we are, but that's
"show biz." They send you fond hellos and hopes for a future get-together.
However, our daughter Cindy and her family will be joining us.
We welcome your company and appreciate you sharing our enthusiastic interest
in the environment and in the future of our remarkable fellow mammals -
whales and dolphins.
We hope you're sharing the enjoyment, as well. After all, that's the Hawaiian
way, isn't it?
Affectionately,
Dorothy & Lloyd Bridges
The Bridges Family and Whales Alive wish to acknowledge Earthtrust
for its ingenious and dedicated efforts to preserve and protect Whales,
Dolphins and the Oceans of the World.
